Our Magical Disney Trip Turned Stomach-Churning

We had been dreaming our Disney vacation to the happiest place on Earth for months/years/forever. We stuffed our suitcases with Mickey ears, ready for a week of rides, parades, and churros. Little did we know, our fantastical journey would quickly take a turn.

We woke up feeling sick/were hit with a bug/fell victim to a stomach virus, and the only thing magical about our day was the mountain of empty trash bags. The lines seemed longer than ever and the sun blazed relentlessly, adding to our misery. We spent most of our time searching for medicine.

A Norovirus Plague Sweeps Main Street USA

Well folks, it appears that Main Street USA has become Ground Zero for a horrific/terrible/nasty case of the gastrointestinal illness/stomach bug/flu. It all started last week/yesterday/over the weekend when a bunch of tourists/locals/the town's mayor came down with severe vomiting and diarrhea/nausea and abdominal cramps/intense stomach aches. Now, it seems like half the town/population/street is down for the count/suffering/fighting the bug.

The local hospital/doctors' offices/emergency room are overflowing/swamped/bursting at the seams with sick residents/victims/sufferers and businesses are closing down/restaurants are shutting their doors/the shops are empty because of the highly contagious/rapidly spreading/unpredictable nature of this dreaded virus/terrible plague/awful affliction.

The town officials are doing everything they can to stop the spread but it's a difficult situation/an uphill battle/a real challenge. The good news is that most people who catch the virus/are infected/get sick will recover fully within a few days/be back on their feet in a week/bounce back quickly.

  • Drink plenty of fluids if you are experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms

Our Disney Trip Went Wrong by a Stomach Bug!

My family/kids/husband and I had been planning/saving up for/looking forward to our amazing/dream/long-awaited vacation to Walt Disney World/Disneyland/the happiest place on Earth for months/years. We'd booked/reserved/arranged everything, from the flights/hotel/park tickets to the souvenirs/character meals/shows. We were so excited! Unfortunately, our trip/adventure/magical vacation was completely/totally/utterly ruined by a nasty stomach bug/virus/intestinal flu.

It all started on our first/second/third day. My child/husband/myself woke up feeling sick/nauseous/terrible. Then, read more the rest/other members/next person of our family/group/trip fell ill/sicker/down one by one. We spent most of our vacation stuck in the hotel room/at the resort/confined to bed, suffering from/fighting off/dealing with terrible cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea/stomach aches, fever, and chills.

We missed out on/couldn't enjoy/were unable to experience all the rides/shows/attractions we'd been looking forward to/planning for/hoping to see. It was truly a disappointment/heartbreak/sad day for us. We even had to cut our trip short/went home early/returned home disappointed.

Our dream vacation/magical experience/trip of a lifetime turned into a nightmare/terrible ordeal/health hazard.

Battling Norovirus at the Happiest Place on Earth

Norovirus outbreaks can destroy even the most magical trips to Disneyland. This highly contagious virus results in symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, making it a pain for both guests and staff. While Disney takes proactive measures to prevent the spread of the virus, outbreaks can still occur.

Luckily, there are steps you can take to defend yourself from getting sick.

* Scrub your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom, touching high-touch surfaces, and before eating.

* Refrain from contact with sick people and their belongings.

Should you you do become ill, stay home to prevent further contamination.

Uh Oh! Our Family's Hit with a Disney Tummy Trouble|

This trip/vacation/holiday to the happiest place on Earth/the planet/in our hearts has taken a turn/twist/sudden change for the worse/worst/sadder. We've got a full-blown/nasty/serious stomach bug going around/hitting us hard/running rampant. My kids/family/little ones are feeling terrible/awful/downright sick, and even I'm not immune to these {Disneydreaded/cursed/annoying bugs! We're stuck/confined/limited to our hotel room/resort suite/cozy cottage with only the sounds of sad Mickey Mouse music/the ice cream truck playing in the distance/construction noises for company. Hopefully, we can turn things around/get back on track/bounce back soon and make the most of this magical adventure/trip/experience.
